List of new features and enhancements that have been shipped with this release.
Major features
- Version control: Until now, you have to pause an active survey to make any changes to it. This, in turn, stopped the customer response collection. Not anymore! With version control, you can edit an active survey and we maintain versions of all the survey configurations you did to any published surveys. Customers can continue to take the survey without any trouble. You can also revert to the questionnaire you published in the past with a click.
- Page display/ skip logic: Similar to the question’s display and skip logic, now you can configure page-level display and skip logic either by the survey audience’s response to the previous question or by their contact field values.
- RTL support: We bring you support to 2 new languages within Freshsurvey viz. Hebrew and Arabic. Officially we now support 50 languages for Admin and survey audience experience including Right-to-Left languages.
- Customize action buttons: Ability to give custom names for action buttons in the survey viz. Skip, Next, Clear selection, and Submit.
- Analytics | Underlying data filter and export: This feature lets you slice and dice the underlying data and even export them rather than resorting to a spreadsheet to do them for you.
Minor enhancement
- Render survey only for users in the audience list: We have a new configuration now to let the survey admin choose to only render the survey to a specific audience in a list. For ad-hoc requests earlier, we added the contact to the list and rendered the survey.
- Better survey list view management: Sort the survey list view by survey name, created on, or updated on, and Filter surveys by created on, updated on, created by, or updated by fields.
- Copy and paste the questionnaire now supports Text box with all the formats and other question types viz. ‘Numbers’, ‘Date and Time’, and ‘Messages’ have been added
- Grey-scale or Colored button style supported for STAR and SMILEY rating scale question type.
- Classic layout now has a configuration to show all the follow-up questions in the same page or as a set on a new page.
- Ability to show or hide logo in Survey and Email template.
- Ability to show or hide the progress bar.
- Handled Rich Text for questions and pages in the Responses page & Share Responses email.
- Ability to use transactional properties in the Webhook payload and Webhook URL, only if a workflow trigger event is set to “Every time a Specific survey is responded”.
- Security enhancement to prevent survey response abuse.
- The category is now prefixed for placeholder labels, making it easy to identify them.
- Allow transactional placeholders in the email template.
- Workflow includes rating and rating group for questions condition.
Bug fixes
WCAG fixes: Form question type’s Text viz. "long text" and “welcome text“ below the Logo, now meet the minimum color contrast ratio between foreground and background.
WCAG fixes: Users not knowing which category they have selected in the ‘Select audience’ screen when a screen reader is used, has now been fixed.
WCAG fixes: Real-time error messages displayed while filling an input field are now exposed to the screen reader.
The form question type key tabs order has been fixed.
We have fixed the issue of adding empty text in other language files when a user adds a new language and publishes it without saving the survey.
The sanity around the ‘Date’ type of custom contact field is fixed now. We have changed the type of this field from date & time to date only.
We have fixed the scenario where a survey when the point scale is configured as starting from ZERO and the survey is responded to with a ZERO rating, the response is not recorded in the responses page.
In the Classic layout survey > Preview and in the End User experience, the Submit button is shown along with the next CTA.
Workflow action email landing in spam issue has been fixed
Fixed the issue in Workflow actions for resolving the transactional and rating/ rating group placeholder
In a few scenarios, the transactional properties were not captured when passed via query param in the URL.
In the Response tab, transactional field filters and search were not present in case transactional properties are added via query params have been fixed.
Fixed to honor “Load as a new survey every time the link is reopened”.
In a few cases the anonymous survey was not getting rendered and resolving the company name placeholder has been fixed now.
The export of a filtered response view will now work as expected.
The data migration issue which triggered all the workflow for the existing responses and reset the survey's last modified date to 16th July has been fixed.
The uploaded Logo not getting rendered for a published survey has been fixed now.
Multi-choice questions with other options enabled were accepting responses greater than 1500 characters has been fixed.
We resolved the issue of not loading the user activated successfully message screen if a user is deleted and re-invited to the system.
Contact form-related validation and issues have been fixed.
In addition, a bunch of Visual Quality Assurance (VQA) fixes have been released including Thank you logo alignment, Card style layout, web-app embed compact style, survey’s question timezone field, contacts page bulk action, Workflow action: Question and answers placeholder alignment in email template & more…
